Introduction

REMHub is a Horizon Europe project that builds a digital innovation hub for the entire rare-earth element (REE) and permanent magnet value chain. The consortium develops and pilots technologies spanning exploration and primary production, as well as the utilization of industrial side streams, traceability, and the recycling of magnets from end-of-life devices (Re-X).

The project implements data-connected virtual models and a “magnet passport” to ensure transparent material flows and to embed recyclability already at the design stage. Work is guided by the SSbD framework and broad stakeholder collaboration, and results are packaged as services on the hub’s digital platform. The goal is to strengthen the EU’s REE security of supply, shorten time-to-market, and build capacity in testing and pilot environments.
