ECOFRAME (European Common FRAMEwork for Operational Scientific Data in RWM)

Introduction

The ECOFRAME project aims to define a common European reference approach for the traceable lifecycle management of operational scientific data in radioactive waste management. The project focuses on how safety-relevant and design-relevant data are generated, curated, interpreted, and preserved to support repository design, safety assessments, and safety-case decisions. Because such data are collected and interpreted over several decades, the project seeks to mitigate risks related to data transparency, reproducibility, and regulatory confidence. The project produces practical recommendations on metadata, data governance, quality assurance, and validation. The work is driven by the practical needs of waste management organisations (WMOs) and technical support organisations (TSOs).
