Geomodels in Engineering Geology and Land Use

Introduction

Construction geological models are highlighted as one of the top objectives of GTK’s strategy. The project “geomodels in engineering geology and land use” aims to administration of engineering geological data flows, but it also promotes wider use of geological knowledge. The draft of construction geological model assembles geological data from overburden to crystalline bedrock, but the focus is on the major factors affecting construction decisions like the occurrence and character of soft soils and bedrock structures. The target area is Helsinki and its surrounding. The geological datasets will be modified for the needs of model-based design.
