Novel Circular Economic Approaches for Efficient Recycling of Spent Li-Ion Batteries (NEXT-LIB)

Esittely

This is an ERAMIN2 project. The objectives are: to develop an efficient process for extraction of metals from spent LIBs by treating the black mass with integrated approaches of sieving and flotation combining roasting for anode and cathode material separation; to optimize the pyro- and hydrometallurgical steps aiming for efficient separation and recovery of Li, Co, Ni and Mn; to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the developed processes from both economic and environmental aspects; and to develop and establish an optimization scenario for designing a sustainable recycling network for spent LIBs. The TRL will be up to 4 level.
